He was being treated under the supervision of a team of experienced doctors. On Saturday morning, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan had come to see him. Arun Jaitley, 66 years, was put on life support system at AIIMS (Delhi) for the past several days. In order to know about his health, many prominent leaders including PM Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind visited the hospital in recent times.
His last rites will be performed at 2 pm on Sunday at Nigam Bodh Ghat in Delhi.

1990: Became Additional Solicitor General. Argued in the Bofors case.
1991: Joined BJP’s National Executive.
1998: Joined Indian delegation to UN General Assembly.
1999: Ministry of Disinvestment with Information and Broadcasting (Independent Charge) in Vajpayee Government.
2000: Reaches the Rajya Sabha. Also took charge of the Ministry of Law.
2006: Re-elected Rajya Sabha MP.
2009: Became leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha. Abandoned advocacy.
2012: Became Rajya Sabha MP for the third time.
2014: Also took charge of Ministry of Defense along with Finance in Modi Government.
2018: Kidney transplanted.
24 August 2019: Died at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi.
