Aditya L1 Mission - ISRO

Space Desk, Delhi Magazine: The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Sunday said it has completed the launch path modification (TCM) process for the Aditya L1 spacecraft, the country’s first solar mission. ISRO also said that the spacecraft is functioning properly. ISRO shared a post on social media , “The spacecraft is in perfect condition and moving towards the Sun. On October 6, its trajectory was corrected by approximately 16 seconds. This is called Trajectory Correction Maneuver (TCM).

L1 is located about 15 lakh km away from the Earth.

ISRO said this was needed to correct the launch path evaluated after tracking the Trans-Lagrangian Point 1 Insertion (TL1I) conducted on September 19, 2023. Aditya-L1 is designed for observations from the Sun-Earth Lagrangian point (L1). L1 is located about 15 lakh km away from the Earth. According to ISRO, the TCM process ensures that the spacecraft remains on its path to enter the ‘halo’ orbit around L1.

Magnetometer will be operational within a few days

“As Aditya-L1 continues to move forward, the magnetometer will be restarted within a few days,” the space agency said. Aditya L1 was successfully launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC) in Sriharikota on September 2. Was. After traveling about 15 lakh km from the Earth in 125 days, the spacecraft is expected to settle into a ‘halo’ orbit around the Lagrangian point L1 which is considered closest to the Sun. It will also send pictures of the Sun for scientific experiments including various studies.
