International Desk, Delhi Magazine: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reiterated the urgent need to end the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, calling it the nation’s “main need.” In his latest official statement, Zelensky emphasized the importance of bringing the war to a swift and just conclusion, while also acknowledging the intense battles faced by Ukrainian forces on the frontline.
In his evening video address, Zelensky provided an update on the situation at the front, referencing a report from Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, head of Ukraine’s ground forces, regarding the frontline situation, particularly in the critical Intercession Direction. He noted that this area continues to witness some of the fiercest battles, requiring robust responses from Ukrainian forces to counter the Russian offensive.
“Every brigade, every unit in the Intercession Direction – all our soldiers who maintain resilience there and defend our positions despite Russian attacks – hold the basis of defense in many ways and throughout the east of our country,” Zelensky stated. He also highlighted the importance of maintaining attention on other fronts, including the Donetsk region, the Kharkiv region, and southern areas of Ukraine.
Zelensky expressed his gratitude to the Ukrainian soldiers for their bravery and resilience in the face of ongoing challenges. “I am grateful to each and everyone whose bravery is working in Ukraine to a full extent,” he added.
This statement follows Zelensky’s ongoing calls for negotiations to resolve the conflict, with previous remarks suggesting that talks could begin without immediately addressing the return of territories. However, he has maintained that any territorial issues would ultimately need to be resolved through a referendum. As the conflict continues, Zelensky’s message underscores the Ukrainian administration’s commitment to defending the nation while seeking a resolution that ensures its sovereignty and security.
