India Desk, Delhi Magazine: Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a crucial security review meeting for Jammu and Kashmir yesterday in the presence of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and senior security officials. The meeting emphasized evaluating the region’s current security situation and strategizing further measures to ensure peace and stability.
Taking to his official social media handle, Amit Shah highlighted the significant progress made under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “peaceful and secure Jammu and Kashmir.” Shah noted that the efforts of the security agencies have “nearly destroyed the terror ecosystem,” resulting in a significant decline in terrorist incidents, infiltration attempts, and the recruitment of youth into terrorist organizations.
“Chaired a security review meeting for Jammu and Kashmir today, along with the Lt. Governor and senior officials. Under PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s vision of building a peaceful and secure J&K, our security agencies have nearly destroyed the terror ecosystem. Appreciated the agencies for the significant decline in terrorist incidents, infiltration, and recruitment of youth in terrorist organisations,” Shah shared on social media.
The meeting reportedly assessed ongoing counter-terrorism operations and reviewed the overall security scenario, including cross-border infiltration and emerging challenges in the region. The Home Minister’s appreciation for the security agencies reflects the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and fostering development in the Union Territory.
Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a noticeable reduction in violent incidents and improved security parameters in recent years, a result of sustained efforts by security forces and coordinated government policies.
This high-level review underscores the Centre’s focus on ensuring lasting peace, stability, and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
Before that meeting, Amit Shah visited the Gundam Forward Operating Base in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, where he interacted with the soldiers stationed in the Naxal-affected area. Expressing gratitude to the security forces for their valor and commitment, Shah acknowledged their role in eliminating the strongholds of Naxalites.
“Visited Gundam Forward Operating Base in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, and interacted with the soldiers. Our security forces are working to secure the Naxal-affected areas by destroying the strongholds of the Naxalites,” Shah added.
