Ukraine lifted the ban on entry for foreigners from September 28. The spokesman of the State Border Guard Service Andrey Demchenko reported about it.
“We are guided by the rules set by the government. We clearly remember that since March there have been various restrictions at the border related to the prevention of the spread of coronavirus in Ukraine. From August 27 to September 28, in fact, there was a ban on entry of foreigners, only the categories of foreign citizens who could enter the territory of our country were clearly defined. That night, at 00:00, this norm ceased to operate, “he said.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to ban the entry of foreigners into Ukraine from 00:00 on August 28, 2020 due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. Restrictions on the entry of foreign citizens into the territory of Ukraine were in force from 00:00 on August 28 to 00:00 on September 28. We will remind, on September 25 it was reported that Ukraine doesn’t plan to prolong a ban on entrance of foreigners.
Now the same rules apply to all foreigners and stateless persons when entering Ukraine as to Ukrainian citizens:
- when entering from the countries of the green zone – without tests and self-isolation
- when entering from the countries of the red zone – 14 days of self-isolation or PCR test for early termination of self-isolation
As of September 25, the red zone includes 50 countries and the green zone 144 countries. The list of these countries is updated by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine every week, taking into account the incidence of coronavirus for the last 14 days per 100 thousand population (which is compared with the rate of Ukraine – 109.5 as of September 25).
The message that citizens of other states are prohibited from entering Ukraine was published in the Telegram channel of the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleg Nemchinov on August 26 this year.
