Indian PM Welcomes Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on India’s 76th Republic Day

New Delhi, India – In a historic moment of diplomacy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed India’s honor in welcoming Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto as the guest of honor for the nation’s 75th Republic Day celebrations.

Reflecting on the enduring ties between the two nations, the Prime Minister noted, “When we marked our first Republic Day, Indonesia was the guest nation, and now, as we celebrate 75 years of being a Republic, President Subianto will be attending the celebrations.”

The two leaders engaged in comprehensive discussions on deepening the India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, exploring collaboration in diverse areas including security, defense manufacturing, trade, financial technology (FinTech), and artificial intelligence (AI). The dialogue also extended to critical sectors like food security, energy, and disaster management, with both sides expressing eagerness for closer cooperation.

India and Indonesia’s shared commitment to multilateral platforms was also emphasized, with the Prime Minister affirming Indonesia’s pivotal role in India’s Act East Policy. He warmly welcomed Indonesia’s inclusion in the BRICS bloc, reinforcing the nation’s growing influence on the global stage.

The meeting marks another milestone in the enduring partnership between India and Indonesia, highlighting the two nations’ shared vision for growth, security, and regional stability.
