Aam Aadmi Party gave big responsibility to Raghav Chadha, appointed party leader in Rajya Sabha

Capital Desk, Delhi Magazine: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has appointed MP Raghav Chadha as the new leader of the party in the Rajya Sabha, taking over the role from Sanjay Singh. The party leadership communicated this decision to the Rajya Sabha Chairman in a letter, citing the absence of Sanjay Singh. Currently, Singh is in jail in connection with the Delhi Liquor Policy case.

Confirming the official communication, the Rajya Sabha Secretariat acknowledged receiving the letter from AAP, designating Raghav Chadha as the leader of the party in the Upper House. AAP, with a total of 10 MPs in the Rajya Sabha, has placed confidence in Raghav Chadha, the youngest among them, due to his intelligence, discretion, and decision-making abilities.

Several months ago, considering Chadha’s capabilities, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal entrusted him with the leadership of the party in the Rajya Sabha. Raghav Chadha, a chartered accountant by profession, recently tied the knot with Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra. In the previous year, following the party’s instructions, Chadha resigned as MLA from the Rajendra Nagar seat and assumed the role of an MP in the Rajya Sabha.

While Raghav Chadha faced defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections against BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri for the South Delhi Lok Sabha seat, he rebounded in the subsequent assembly elections, winning the Rajendra Nagar seat in 2020. The party, facing challenges with several leaders, including Sanjay Singh, being embroiled in corruption cases, is placing its trust in the younger generation, such as Raghav Chadha and Atishi Marlena, during these challenging times.
