New Vande Bharat Express Breaks Bullet Train Record, Reaches 0-100 kmph in 52 Seconds

Country Desk, Delhi Magazine: The country’s first semi-high speed and new Vande Bharat train has created a new record during the test run. The train accelerated from 0 to 100 kmph in 52 seconds, leaving behind bullet trains. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave this information. This is the third Vande Bharat train in the country. Which will be run on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Friday that the Railways aims to produce two to three trains every month by starting regular production of Vande Bharat train from October, which will be increased to five to eight in the coming month. Railways has set a target of producing 75 such trains by August 2023. This new train has completed all the trials and is ready to run commercially. Sources said that this train can run between Mumbai and Ahmedabad and will be officially launched this month.

 

Vaishnav said that the new train has many advanced systems. He said that the third Vande Bharat train has completed its trials and is ready for commercial operation. He said that the new train can accelerate from zero to 100 kmph in just 52 seconds while the old train took 54.6 seconds to achieve this speed. He said that the weight of the new train has also been reduced by 38 tonnes so that it can run faster. He said that the new train can accelerate to 160 kmph in 130 seconds while the old version train took 146 seconds to achieve this speed.

Features of Vande Bharat Train

Railway Ministry sources said that the new design of Vande Bharat Express has a photocatalytic air purifier system, which can kill 99% of germs and viruses. Vande Bharat train has features like plane. AC, TV, automatic doors, highclass pantry and washroom are all there in this train. Vande Bharat is completely Made in India.

The train has a self-propelled engine, that is, there is no separate engine attached. The executive coach seats can be rotated up to 180 degrees, just like the Vistadome seats. The new train has improved its quality and riding index. The train scores 3.2 on these parameters, while the best score globally is 2.9. The ministry expects that new batches of Vande Bharat trains will start every month from October.

Vaishnav said, “We will now start production in a serial manner. The test has been completed. We aim to start regular production starting from October. Under this, two to three trains will be produced every month. After this, this capacity will be increased to five to eight trains per month. He said that most of the trains would be produced at the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai.

Reached Mumbai from Ahmedabad in 5 hours

The new Vande Bharat train was trialled between Ahmedabad-Mumbai on Friday. This train reaches Surat from Ahmedabad in just 2 hours 32 minutes while Shatabdi Express takes 3 hours. Departed from Ahmedabad at 7.06 am and arrived at Surat station at 9.38 am. From here Mumbai Central reached without stopping at 12.16 pm. The train takes just 5 hours 10 minutes to cover 492 km from Ahmedabad to Mumbai, while Shatabdi Express takes 6 hours 20 minutes to reach Mumbai Central from Ahmedabad.
