National Desk, Delhi Magazine: Former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal passed away at a hospital in Mohali on Tuesday. The Central Government OF India has declared two-day state mourning on the demise of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) patron and stalwart leader and five-time Chief Minister of Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government has declared a one-day public holiday on Wednesday as a mark of respect to Badal. During this, all government, board and corporation offices, schools and higher educational institutions will remain closed.
On the other hand, SAD has decided that Badal’s mortal remains will be kept at the party headquarters in Sector-28 here at 10 am on Wednesday where senior party leaders, workers and public will be able to pay their respects till 12 noon.

After this, Badal’s last journey will start from Chandigarh to his native Badal village in Muktsar district. The yatra will reach Badal village via Rajpura, Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala, Rampura Phool Bathinda where he will be cremated with full state honors at 1 pm on Thursday, April 27.
