Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday inaugurated an Ayushman Arogya Mandir at the village chaupal in Sahipur under the Shalimar Bagh Assembly Constituency and dedicated the healthcare facility to the public.

The newly opened centre will provide accessible and quality healthcare services to residents of the area. Facilities at the Arogya Mandir include free doctor consultations, essential diagnostic tests, medicines, vaccination services and primary treatment for common illnesses.

Addressing local residents, the Chief Minister said that strengthening primary healthcare infrastructure is essential to ensure that citizens receive medical services close to their homes without inconvenience. According to officials, 371 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs have been launched over the past year to expand healthcare access across the city.

A few days earlier, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had also travelled on a Delhi Transport Corporation bus using the Saheli Pink NCMC card to experience the facility designed for women commuters. The card allows women passengers to simply tap the card on the ticketing machine while boarding and travel seamlessly on DTC buses.

The government has been encouraging women across Delhi to register for the Saheli Pink NCMC card, which can be issued at various centres with basic registration using an Aadhaar number and mobile number. The initiative aims to make public transport safer, faster and more convenient for women in the national capital.
