Huge Jump in Corona Cases in India, More Than 21 Thousand New Cases Came in 24 Hours

Health Desk, Delhi Magazine: In India, 21,566 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in a day, which is the highest number of infections reported after 152 days. With this, the number of patients under treatment has increased to 1,48,881. According to the updated data of the Mygov till 8 am on Thursday (21 July 2022), the death toll has risen to 5,25,870 with 45 more patients losing their lives. The total number of infected has reached 4,38,25,185.

The number of patients under treatment is 0.34 percent of the total cases of infection, while the national rate of recovery from Covid-19 is 98.46 percent. According to the data, the number of patients undergoing treatment for Covid-19 has increased by 3,227 in the last 24 hours. The daily rate of infection was 4.25 percent while the weekly infection rate was recorded at 4.51 percent. The number of people who have recovered from this disease has increased to 4,31,50,434 while the death rate is 1.2 percent. Under the nationwide anti-COVID-19 vaccination campaign, 200.91 crore doses have been given so far.

Significantly, on 7 August 2020, the number of infected people in the country had exceeded 20 lakh, on 23 August 2020 30 lakh and on 5 September 2020, more than 40 lakh. The total cases of infection crossed 50 lakh on 16 September 2020, 60 lakh on 28 September 2020, 70 lakh on 11 October 2020, 80 lakh on 29 October 2020 and 90 lakh on 20 November. On 19 December 2020, these cases had exceeded one crore in the country. Last year, on May 4, the number of infected had crossed 20 million and on June 23, 2021, it crossed 30 million. On January 25 this year, the cases had crossed four crores.
