Jasmeh Kaur

At just 17 years old, Jasmeh Kaur Dang—currently attending The British School, New Delhi—is steering the future of motorsports and STEM with determination and grit. As the founder of Girls on the Grid, she’s making engineering accessible and fun for girls from underprivileged backgrounds, nurturing tomorrow’s innovators today.

Rising Above Stereotypes

Her passion ignited in 2021 when she was part of India’s first all-girls team in F1 in Schools. Despite the odds, Jasmeh and her teammates refused to be defined by age or gender—turning skepticism into fuel for excellence. Her team not only emerged as two-time national champions but also advanced to international finals in both the UK and Singapore.

Empowering Young Engineers

Through Girls on the Grid, Jasmeh organizes vibrant STEM workshops for girls aged 9–13, leveraging low-cost kits to build and race tiny F1-style cars. These hands-on experiences democratize engineering and spark real excitement in science. Already, her initiative has reached over 1,000 students across 15 schools in Delhi.

Getting Recognized Globally

Her pioneering work has not gone unnoticed. Honored with Women in Motorsports Award nominations, she’s also delivered two TEDx talks and earned a coveted spot as one of only 12 international students invited to the Williams F1 Work Experience Week 2024 in the UK.

A Vision Beyond Boundaries

Jasmeh believes, “Every girl deserves to dream beyond limits.” Forestalling limitations, she’s not just about building cars—she’s building confidence, opening doors, and nurturing dreams. Looking forward, she aims to scale Girls on the Grid nationwide and launch a digital platform featuring virtual races and tutorials—so STEM becomes accessible to kids anywhere.
