This flagship initiative was aimed at enhancing food safety, hygiene, and quality practices among food handlers. Over 100 participants received certification under the program, which focused on building awareness and practical skills required for maintaining safe and healthy food environments.
Officials highlighted that the FoSTaC training is a key step toward establishing a robust and responsible food ecosystem across the country. The certification aligns with FSSAI’s broader mission to ensure that every stakeholder in the food supply chain is equipped with the right knowledge to uphold public health and safety standards.
The event at IIM Bangalore also emphasized the growing collaboration between academic institutions and regulatory bodies in advancing India’s food safety framework.
Last month, FSSAI also conducted a Street Food Vendor Training Programme in Varanasi under the PM SVANidhi Scheme. The initiative was designed to educate and empower local food vendors about safe food practices, hygiene maintenance, and regulatory compliance, helping improve public health and customer trust.
