GFT Technologies has partnered with Google Cloud as part of the launch of Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services, a new agentic AI solution aimed at helping banks and other financial institutions automate complex, data-intensive workflows.

The collaboration places GFT among the selected launch partners for Google’s new financial-services offering and expands the companies’ existing work around AI modernization and cloud transformation. GFT says the partnership will support financial institutions in modernizing legacy technology environments while introducing scalable AI capabilities.

Google Cloud launched Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services on August 25, 2026, initially making the solution available in preview for capital markets and corporate banking. Unlike general-purpose AI assistants, the platform has been designed around financial workflows and includes a Google-managed Financial Research agent, more than 50 specialized skills, enterprise data connectors and an ecosystem of third-party agents.

From AI assistants to workflow automation

One of the significant developments behind the launch is Google’s focus on moving AI beyond simple question-and-answer interactions. Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services is designed to connect AI agents with the systems and data that financial professionals already use.

Google says the platform can connect with services and financial-data providers including FactSet, LSEG, S&P Global, Moody’s, MSCI, PitchBook and Dun & Bradstreet, allowing financial teams to work with governed financial information within their existing workflows.

The platform also supports workflows such as KYC and entity research, portfolio risk analysis, credit research, advisor insights and bond issuance. This could allow financial institutions to automate portions of research and analysis that traditionally require significant manual effort.

Security and explainability remain central

For financial institutions, automation alone is not enough because AI systems must operate within strict security, governance and regulatory requirements.

Google Cloud says Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services incorporates controls including VPC Service Controls, customer-managed encryption keys, regional data controls and centralized policy enforcement. Google also states that customer data is not used to train its foundation models.

The Financial Research agent is also designed to provide traceability through confidence scores, documented methodologies, auditable data snapshots and citations to underlying sources. This is particularly important for financial research, where institutions need to understand where an AI-generated conclusion came from.

GFT brings financial-sector modernization expertise

GFT’s role is focused on combining these AI capabilities with its existing technology modernization methodology. The company works with banks, insurers and other large enterprises on modernizing core technology architectures and deploying AI-driven solutions.

According to GFT, its AI Modernization services have helped clients achieve reductions of up to 60% in operating costs and 30% faster time-to-market. Its Wynxx enterprise GenAI platform has also recorded productivity improvements of up to 40% and time savings of up to 90% in Tier-1 enterprise environments, according to the company.

GFT also highlighted an existing Gemini Enterprise project involving the transformation of software development and lifecycle operations at one of Brazil’s largest banks.

Google Cloud’s wider financial AI ecosystem

GFT’s announcement comes as Google Cloud builds a broader ecosystem around Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services. The launch includes global technology and consulting companies as well as financial-data and fintech providers.

Among the financial institutions already involved is Deutsche Bank, which served as a key design partner for Google’s Financial Research agent. Deutsche Bank said its participation helped address requirements around security, auditability, data residency and the practical needs of banking teams.

In 2025, GFT, Engine by Starling and Salt Bank won two FS Tech Awards for “Best Use of IT in Consumer Finance” and “Financial Services Collaboration of the Year.” The partnership also received the “Best Digital Bank” recognition at the FinTech Breakthrough Awards. The awards recognized the team’s work in building Romania’s first fully digital banking platform for Salt Bank, which was delivered in less than 12 months.

Google Cloud has also highlighted CME Group as an early user of the new solution.

The development reflects a broader shift in enterprise AI: financial institutions are increasingly looking beyond generic chatbots toward specialized AI agents that can work with governed data and execute defined business processes.

For GFT, joining the launch partner ecosystem gives the company another avenue to combine its financial-sector expertise and modernization capabilities with Google’s growing agentic AI platform. The partnership is expected to focus on helping financial institutions modernize legacy environments, automate operational workflows and build a foundation for wider AI adoption.
