Jamnagar Desk, Delhi Magazine March 4, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Vantara, a state-of-the-art wildlife conservation, rescue, and rehabilitation center in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The center, established by Reliance Industries in collaboration with the Reliance Foundation, spans over 3,000 acres and is home to more than 2,000 animals across 43 species.

PM Modi shared glimpses of his visit on social media, expressing his admiration for the initiative. He captioned his post:

PM Modi’s Interaction with Wildlife at Vantara

During his visit, PM Modi was seen engaging with several rescued animals. He was spotted feeding a white lion cub, which was born at the facility after its mother was rescued. He also patted an okapi, observed rare clouded leopards, golden tigers, snow leopards, and chimpanzees, and marveled at a unique two-headed snake and turtle.

The Prime Minister appreciated the efforts taken to create a safe and nurturing environment for these animals. He also interacted with conservationists and veterinary experts at the center, discussing India’s role in wildlife protection and sustainability.

Vantara: A Landmark in Wildlife Conservation

Vantara, which means “protector of forests,” has been developed as a sanctuary for endangered and rescued animals. The facility includes advanced veterinary care units, research labs, and modern rehabilitation enclosures. Some of its features include:

World-class veterinary care, including MRI and advanced diagnostic tools
Specialized rescue and rehabilitation programs for endangered species
A breeding program for rare and exotic animals
Sustainable enclosures that mimic natural habitats
