Lifestyle Desk, Delhi Magazine: A complaint accusing NRJ star host Sébastien Cauet of rape has been filed, adding to previous allegations of sending explicit messages to a minor. NRJ Group has temporarily removed Cauet from its broadcasts, following a complaint lodged with the Bourg-en-Bresse public prosecutor’s office. The investigation, initiated in response to the complaint, is centered on charges of “rape of a minor over 15 years old” and “rape.”
The recent complaint, filed by a young woman on November 18, alleges two incidents of rape that occurred between 2014 and 2022 in Paris and Switzerland when the victim was a minor. While the details of the accusations are not disclosed by the justice system at this stage, the complainant had previously implicated Cauet on social media, sharing explicit content and screenshots of alleged conversations.
The social media accusations also sparked additional testimonies from other women who claim to be victims of Cauet’s inappropriate behavior, describing him as “humiliating” and “forceful and misogynistic” with his teams.
In response to the online allegations, Cauet filed two complaints for “harassment” last week, leading to an investigation by the Brigade for the Repression of Delinquency against the Person.
Through a statement from his lawyer, Cauet vehemently denies the accusations, expressing his intention to take legal action against the complainant for slanderous denunciation. He asserts that the charges are “unfounded” and pledges to pursue legal action against media outlets publishing defamatory remarks.
NRJ Group, in a press release, announced the temporary removal of Cauet from its broadcasts, citing the need for serenity during legal proceedings. The group initiated an internal investigation on November 17, conducted by an external firm, to ensure compliance with its ethics charter. The investigation is ongoing, and NRJ Group is committed to maintaining transparency in this matter.

For his part, the host explains, also on X, that he will not be on the air of NRJ on Wednesday. “I will not go on the air today, in agreement with NRJ ,” he wrote, assuring “that I have proof of his innocence.”
