The post has left many questioning Ameti’s intentions and her future in Swiss politics. The unusual analogy comparing political parties to underwear, and the use of colloquial language, raised eyebrows across both political and social media circles.

Ameti’s expulsion from the Green Liberal Party earlier this month followed a series of clashes within the party, including her outspoken criticism of its leadership and policies. Her actions mirror a number of historical incidents in Swiss political history, where politicians have faced expulsion or isolation for failing to conform to party norms.

In 2004, Swiss politician Christoph Blocher was expelled from the Swiss Federal Council after his controversial handling of Switzerland’s relations with the European Union, which led to a major political split. Similarly, in 2015, former politician Oskar Freysinger was dismissed from the Swiss People’s Party for expressing unorthodox views, further polarizing the political landscape.

Ameti’s latest post, however, has taken the situation to new extremes, reflecting her frustration and perhaps her attempt to break free from traditional political constraints. The use of such language has been widely criticized as inappropriate, especially coming from a public figure.

While some see it as an expression of personal rebellion, others believe it signals a shift in Swiss politics, where traditional party lines and decorum are increasingly being questioned. Political analysts have noted that Ameti’s expulsion, along with her post, could pave the way for a new form of political expression—one that is less restrained and more in line with the current wave of populist movements around the world.

As the situation continues to unfold, many are waiting to see if Ameti will further align herself with other non-traditional political movements or if she will seek to reenter the mainstream political scene in Switzerland.
