UP CM Aditya Nath on Vijya Dashmi

Up Desk, Delhi Magazine: On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed a special puja at the historic Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur. As the Peethadhishwar (head priest) of the temple, CM Yogi carried out the worship rituals dedicated to Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath and other deities, maintaining the age-old spiritual traditions of the temple.

The ceremony began early in the morning with chanting of Vedic mantras, followed by a detailed worship sequence that included the offering of flowers, lamps, and sacred rituals symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. Devotees from different regions had gathered at the temple to witness the event, which is considered one of the most significant parts of the annual Vijayadashami celebrations in Gorakhpur.

Apart from the puja, the temple also hosted cultural and religious programs throughout the day, highlighting the values of Sanatan Dharma, discipline, and devotion. The Gorakhnath Temple has historically been the center of such grand festivities, and under Yogi Adityanath’s leadership as both Chief Minister and spiritual head, the tradition has grown stronger with larger participation from devotees each year.

Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, is celebrated across India to commemorate the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana and the triumph of virtue over evil. In Gorakhpur, the day holds a special significance due to the deep connection of the Nath sect with the festival’s spiritual essence.

The puja concluded with blessings for peace, prosperity, and harmony for the people of Uttar Pradesh and the nation. The Chief Minister also interacted with devotees and temple priests after the rituals, encouraging them to uphold cultural heritage and moral values.
