The Bengal Files trailer out

New Delhi, August 17: Despite facing disruptions during its trailer launch in Kolkata, Vivek Agnihotri’s The Bengal Files is witnessing an extraordinary wave of support abroad and online.

According to Delhi Magazine, pre-release screenings held in U.S. cities such as Atlanta, Tampa, and Orlando were completely sold out, with audiences hailing the film as “not just a movie, but an experience.” The house-full response abroad reflects the strong anticipation within the Indian diaspora and signals powerful momentum ahead of the film’s India release.

Meanwhile, the official trailer, unveiled on Zee Studios’ YouTube channel on August 16, has taken the internet by storm—amassing over 12 million views and 242,000 likes within just 24 hours. The explosive digital reception cements the film’s status as one of the most talked-about releases of 2025.

This global success story stands in stark contrast to the chaos in Kolkata, where the trailer launch event faced interruptions, technical sabotage, and police intervention. Yet, the film has clearly broken through barriers—winning both overseas audiences and online viewers.

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, The Bengal Files is the much-anticipated third installment in his Files Trilogy after The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files. Based on the traumatic events of Direct Action Day in 1946, the film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumar.

Set for a theatrical release on September 5, 2025, the film already appears to be more than just cinema—it’s shaping up to be a cultural event.
