Bhutan King Wangchuk on Eight-Day Visit to India from Today

New Delhi, Delhi Magazine: Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck will be on an eight-day official visit to India from Friday. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) gave this information. The ministry said the visit of the Bhutanese King will provide an opportunity to review the entire gamut of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and take forward the “exemplary” partnership.

According to the ministry, Bhutan’s King Wangchuk will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During this, various aspects of India-Bhutan relations are also expected to be discussed. The External Affairs Ministry said on Thursday that External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and senior government officials would meet Wangchuk. “King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan will be on an official visit to India from November 3 to 10 along with senior officials of the Royal Government of Bhutan. He will also visit Assam and Maharashtra,” a statement said.

“India and Bhutan enjoy unique relations of friendship and cooperation, characterized by mutual understanding and mutual trust,” the Ministry of External Affairs said. “The visit will provide an opportunity to both sides to review the entire gamut of bilateral cooperation and take forward the exemplary bilateral partnership in various fields,” the statement said.
