Auto Desk, Delhi Magazine: Simple Energy, a Bengaluru-based electric vehicle startup, will launch its e-scooter Simple One on May 23. The company unveiled the e-scooter a year back. Then it was claimed that it would run 236 km on a single full charge.
Speaking on the launch date announcement on Wednesday, April 26, Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO, Simple Energy said, “When we started Simple One, our aim was to provide the customer with a product that suits them.

Suhas said that along with the official confirmation of the launch of Simple One, we would also like to announce that we are the first OEM to comply with the Automotive Industry Standard (AIS) 156 Amendment 3, which provides for improved battery safety. Simple One is now much faster, plus it’s improved a lot. We are confident that our product will live up to the trust of the people.
After this, due to disruption in the supply chain and several changes in the scooter, the company had pushed the launch and delivery several times in the past as well. The company claims that the One electric scooter includes a battery pack that complies with all safety norms and is the only scooter with the safest battery in the segment.
300km range will be available with swappable battery pack option
The e-scooter has a 4.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The company claims that this e-scooter will give a range of 236 km on a full charge. It will also get a swappable battery pack option, which increases the range to 300km. The battery pack is mated to an 8.5 kW electric motor that produces 11 bhp power and 72 Nm torque.

LED headlamp and 7-inch touch screen instrument cluster
The e-scooter features LED headlamps with tail maps, 7-inch touch screen instrument cluster with 4G connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity for music and calls, onboard navigation system, different driving modes and more. The scooter will be available in Azure Blue, Brazen Black, Grace White and Namma Red color options.
