Indore IAS farmhouse gambling - police raid

Indore: The gambling case at IAS Vandana Vaidya’s farmhouse in Manpur has taken a dramatic legal turn. The matter has now reached the Madhya Pradesh High Court after the suspended Town Inspector (TI), Lokendra Singh Hihore, filed a petition claiming he was victimized for performing his duty.

The Allegations of Systemic Pressure

TI Hihore alleged in his petition that after the raid, he faced immense pressure from senior officials to alter the FIR. According to the petition:

  • He was asked to change the location of the incident to hide the fact that the gambling took place at the IAS officer’s farmhouse.

  • He was pressured to conceal factual evidence and modify the names involved.

  • Upon refusing to comply with these “illegal demands,” he was placed under suspension.

High Court Seeks Accountability

During the hearing on Thursday, the High Court noted the seriousness of the allegations. The court has now made several high-ranking officials parties to the case, including:

  • Principal Secretary (Home Department)

  • Director General of Police (DGP)

  • IG and SP (Rural)

The court has sought an official response from all parties involved. The next crucial hearing is scheduled for April 1st.

“I didn’t know it was an IAS officer’s property”

The petitioner clarified that during the raid on the intervening night of March 10th and 11th, he had no prior knowledge that the farmhouse belonged to IAS Vandana Vaidya. He claims the harassment and pressure started only after the ownership of the property became public.

He also raised concerns over the suspension of ASI Resham Girwal, who was reportedly on medical leave and not even present on duty during the time of the action.

Legal Stand

Advocate Mini Ravindran, representing TI Lokendra Singh, stated that since the matter is currently sub-judice (under judicial consideration), further confidential details cannot be shared. All arguments will be presented formally before the court during the next hearing.
