Education Desk, Delhi Magazine: The Gateway Institute of Engineering and Technology (GIET), Sonipat, is all set to host a national-level hackathon beginning tomorrow, bringing together some of the brightest young minds from across the country. Today marked the beginning of team arrivals at the Gateway Education Campus, with 30 out of the 100 registered teams reaching the venue. These include early participants from institutions such as Rai University, Gujarat, and SR University, Telangana, who were among the first to check in.
The hackathon, designed to encourage innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving, is one of the largest student-driven technical events to be held at the institute. It provides an opportunity for aspiring developers, engineers, and entrepreneurs to collaborate on real-world challenges, explore emerging technologies, and showcase their skills before an esteemed panel of experts.
The event will be inaugurated tomorrow with Mr. Piyush Prashad attending as the Chief Guest. Mr. Prashad is currently associated with the I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC) at IIT Delhi, where he heads Education Research and Training. His presence brings valuable insight and recognition to the hackathon, reflecting the high standards the event is set to achieve.
Joining the inaugural session as Guests of Honor will be Prof. Abhayjeet Singh, Co-Founder and Chief Academic Officer at ImaginXP; Dr. Nidhi Mathur, Director of Academics at ImaginXP–CollegeDekho; and Dr. Sugandhi Malhotra, Tech Program Director at ImaginXP–CollegeDekho. Their participation underscores the strong collaboration between academia and industry that this event aims to promote.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Colonel A.K. Garg, Director of Gateway Education, expressed pride in hosting such a large-scale and meaningful event. “This hackathon is not just a competition—it’s a celebration of youthful energy, fresh ideas, and the transformative power of technology. We are thrilled to welcome talented students from all corners of India to our campus and provide them with a platform to shine.”
Dr. Vinay Singhal, Principal of GIET Sonipat, also shared his thoughts, stating, “We believe in nurturing innovation at the grassroots level. Events like these play a critical role in equipping our students with real-world problem-solving abilities, confidence, and collaborative skills that go far beyond textbooks.”
As more teams continue to arrive, the campus is rapidly transforming into a hub of creative energy and technological enthusiasm. Over the next few days, GIET Sonipat will witness an inspiring convergence of talent, innovation, and collaboration as students compete, connect, and create under one roof. The hackathon stands not only as a competition but as a celebration of future-ready skills and visionary thinking.
