A Christian Journalist Killed in Pakistan

A journalist from the Pakistani Christian minority, Qais Javed Masih, was killed in an ambush by armed men in the city of Dera Ismail, in northwestern Pakistan. According to the police, two unidentified motorcyclists knocked on the door of Qais Javed and, when the reporter opened the door, opened fire, then fled.

The incident took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. According to the police, Kanyas Javed was a local journalist living in Medina Colony in Dera Ismail Khan district.

“He received several bullets in the abdomen and died before reaching the hospital,” said police who have opened an investigation.
    Qais Javed worked for almost 10 years for the well-known channel Geo News, until 2016 when he launched his own web channel ‘Ehad Nama’, quite popular in the city of Dera Ismail Khan and on social channels. 

The police has not made any arrest in this case.

Pakistan has become the most dangerous region in terms of coverage of media and journalists.
