As noted in the message, the visit of the American diplomat will last two days. It is specified that this is the first visit to China by the head of the State Department since October 2018. Blinken is expected to meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang in the coming hours.
On June 18-19, Blinken is in China on a visit, which was originally planned for February. Then it did not take place due to an incident with a Chinese balloon, which was shot down by a missile within the airspace of the United States. Beijing claims the balloon was a Chinese weather balloon, but the Washington administration claims it was used to “gather important information.
