Dhulipudi, who is going to be the 13th Vice Chancellor of JNU, will succeed Professor M. Jagadesh Kumar, who has been appointed as the chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC). M Jagadesh Kumar had been discharging responsibilities as the acting vice-chancellor after his five-year term as the vice-chancellor of JNU was completed last year.

Professor Shantisree Dhulipudi Pandit has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of the country’s prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Dhulipudi Pandit will be the first woman vice-chancellor of JNU. Their term will be of five years. Prior to this she was a professor at Savitri Bai Phule Pune University.

Shantisree, 59, was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. Then his mother was a professor of Tamil and Telugu subjects in the Leningrad Oriental Faculty Department there.

Professor Shantisree Dhulipudi Pandit was born in the city of St. Petersburg, Russia. Professor Shantisree is well versed in several languages ​​like Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Hindi, Sanskrit, English, Kannada, Malayalam and Konkani. She did his schooling in Chennai. After this, she graduated in history, diploma in social work from California State University of America. Apart from this, she did MA in Social Psychology at Presidency College, Madras in 1983. Got the degree. She became a gold medalist by securing first rank in the university. After this she completed his pre doctoral degree M.Phil in International Relations Papers and Resertation from Jawaharlal Nehru University in 1986. she is fluent in 9 languages

Professor M Jagadesh Kumar has been appointed as the chairman of UGC for the next 5 years.

Jagdish Kumar has done remarkable work in Electrical Engineering. He was educated at IIT Madras. From there he completed his Masters and PhD. He has also worked as a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Delhi. He was born in Telangana. He has done post-doctoral research work from the University of Waterloo, Canada. He is interested in Electrical Engineering, Nanotechnology. He has also received the ISA-VSI Technomentor Award for his work.

Shantisree is an alumnus of JNU. She earned his MPhil in 1986 and PhD in 1990 from the university’s School of International Studies. Earlier, she did his post graduation in Political Science from Presidency College, Madras. She has also taught at Goa University before Savitri Bai Phule Pune University.
