Wangchuk’s declaration of the fast unto death was made during a sizable rally, drawing thousands of attendees, including women. The Leh Apex Body and Kargil Democratic Alliance have joined forces, advocating for Ladakh’s full statehood, its inclusion in the 6th Schedule of the Constitution, and the establishment of a specialized Public Service Commission for the region’s unique high-altitude challenges.
