International Desk, Delhi Magazine: The worsening energy crisis in Europe has caused a shortage of floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals. Because of this, rental rates for specialized tankers have doubled, according to Bloomberg.
The agency notes that demand for LNG imports will grow against the backdrop of accidents at Nord Stream. In total, there are 48 floating LNG transportation units in the world.
All but six of them operate on a lease basis. At the same time, the demand has become so great that renting one ship to Germany costs 200 thousand dollars a day.
