Idea of the Rest The Case

When Shreya was studying at Cardiff, she saw how well organized the legal system was there. She realized that there was a gap in the Indian Legal System and people lacked access to trustable lawyers and legal knowledge. Wanting to always start a business of her own, Shreya decided to start Rest The Case.

When the Pandemic hit, Shreya realized that the need for a platform like Rest The Case connecting lawyers and clients online was more than ever. People not being able to see each other face to face and to top that the lockdown brought on many legal issues with people being fired, having to abruptly move cities, etc the need for lawyers increased. Therefore, Rest The Case was born during the Covid 19 Pandemic in 2020.

Main Issues in the Journey of Rest the Case

Just like every new enterprise, Rest The Case faced certain hurdles. To begin with, the concept of a legal aggregator is fairly new and one of the biggest challenges is to make people aware of such a platform. Moreover, when it comes to legal issues, people are cautious while sharing their details as there are sensitive matters involved. Building trust and credibility in the platform can be tricky but also essential.

Shreya Sharma Achievements in the Journey of Rest the Case

Rest The Case has been able to onboard more than 1200 lawyers from close to 200 cities across the nation in just 2 years. Rest The Case has been awarded the Best Start-Up by India 500 Start-Up Awards in 2021 and is  a recognized start-up by the Government of India.

Future Goals

In terms of Future Goals, we want to expand our reach to the remotest of the cities in India by onboarding more and more lawyers to be able to provide legal help to people all across the country. Apart from this we also are working on introducing mediation on the platform and incorporating Artificial Intelligence on the platform.
